Antananarivo, June 26, 2016 (AFP)

At least two people were killed and some 50 wounded in a grenade blast at a stadium in Madagascar’s capital Sunday during celebrations marking the country’s independence day, the gendarmerie said.
“The explosion was caused by a grenade,” general Anthony Rakotoarison, head of security and intelligence with the national gendarmerie, told AFP by phone.
The attack happened around 1600 GMT at the Mahamasina municipal stadium in Antananarivo where a free concert was taking place to celebrate Madagascar’s 26th anniversary of independence from France.
